The second school of the day was Queenswood School in Hatfield, England, a 45-minute train ride from London. Queenswood is a girls' school with a motto of "Queenswood girls are happy—happy girls are successful girls." The girls take an active role in everything from growing their own fruit and vegetables on the ward to practical cooking lessons. The school offers the Leiths Academy, an award-winning UK cookery school offering a world-class professional chef diploma, and at Queenswood, girls have the opportunity to take these courses.
The girls' dormitories are really comfortable, and they feel right at home. You share a room with about six to four other girls, and when you enter Sixth Form, you stay in single rooms. Sixth Form girls also have access to the Bellman Sixth Form Centre, a multi-purpose facility where they can study or socialise with their friends. Queenswood offers a total of 16 sports for girls, including swimming, golf, gymnastics, tennis, horse riding, polo, badminton and trampolining. Queenswood School is best known for its tennis team, ranked number 1 in the UK and number 4 in the world for tennis.
