Undergraduate Programs in United States of America
Education in the United States is divided into community colleges, state universities, and private universities. Two-, three-, or four-year programs are available at community colleges. Students who complete two or three years of education at these schools can transfer to universities by having their credits counted. This allows students to reduce their education costs. Academic education in the United States begins in August or September and ends in May or June. At some universities, the academic year consists of two semesters, and students can also take courses during the summer. At some universities, the year is divided into four equal semesters, with three semesters excluding the summer. Students must complete a certain number of credits to graduate. The United States offers one-year OPT to graduating students. This OPT gives students the opportunity to gain work experience in the United States. Students wishing to study at a university in the United States are required to pass specific exams or have a specific diploma.
