SSAT
The SSAT is the first step toward obtaining a certificate for students in 5th-12th grades who wish to continue their education at a private high school abroad. It is administered at only three centers in Istanbul, and LMK Consulting is one of these three centers. The SSAT (Secondary and High School Entrance Exam) is a multiple-choice exam that measures the proficiency of students in 5th and 11th grades. The levels are categorized as follows:
- Beginner; Grades 3-4
- Intermediate; Grades 5-7
- Upper; Grades 8-11.

1) Elementary Level SSAT Sections and Topics
For 3rd and 4th grade students, the exam consists of five sections: writing, math, reading comprehension, vocabulary, and experimental.
The Writing section involves writing a story (in the form of an essay). This section lasts 25 minutes and is not scored. It determines how well a student can write and organize their thoughts, allowing admissions committees to assess their ability to write.
The Math section consists of 30 questions and includes numerical calculations.
The Vocabulary section includes 30 vocabulary and similarity questions.
The Reading Comprehension section includes 28 questions related to reading passages. It measures reading and reading comprehension.
The Experimental section includes vocabulary, reading comprehension, and math questions. This section is intended for questions that can be used in future exams and is not scored.
2) Middle Level SSAT Sections and Topics
For 5th-7th grade students, the test consists of five sections: writing, math, reading comprehension, vocabulary, and experimental.
Writing Section: One of two creative essay beginnings is chosen. This section is not scored unless you choose to purchase a copy of your writing sample to accompany your online score report. It allows schools' admissions committees to gauge a student's ability to write and organize their thoughts. This section lasts 25 minutes.
Math Section: There are 50 questions, divided into two parts. Measures problem-solving ability on given topics. Scoring is done in this section. 30 minutes for the first 25 questions, 30 minutes for the second 25 questions are given. Number Concepts and Operations, Beginning Algebra, Geometry, Data Analysis, and Probability are the topics of the exam.
Reading Comprehension Section: This section includes 40 questions and measures reading and comprehension skills. This section is scored. This section lasts 25 minutes. Reading vocabulary is typically between 250-350 words and may include the following topics: Literary fiction, Humanities (biography, art, poetry), Science (anthropology, astronomy, medicine), Social sciences (history, sociology, economics)
Vocabulary Section: There are 60 questions in total, including 30 synonyms and 30 similarities. Measures Vocabulary and word comprehension. This section is scored.This section lasts 30 minutes. This section covers synonyms and word relationships.
Experimental Section: This section includes 16 questions. The SSATB is constantly developing new, reliable, and acceptable exams. These questions can be used on future SSAT exams.This section is not scored. This section lasts 15 minutes and contains 6 vocabulary questions, 5 reading questions, and 5 math questions.
3) Upper-Level SSAT Sections and Topics
Writing Section: You will choose one of two essay questions: One creative and one classic essay question. This section is not scored unless you choose to purchase a copy of your writing sample to accompany your online score report. However, it allows admissions committees to gauge a student's ability to write and organize their thoughts. This section lasts 25 minutes.
Math Section: There are 50 questions, divided into two sections. It measures problem-solving ability on given topics. This section is scored. 30 minutes for the first 25 questions and 30 minutes for the second 25 questions are given.
