SAT
The SAT (Scholastic Assessment Test) is a standardized exam that assesses the academic aptitude of high school students, particularly those applying to universities in the United States. The exam measures students' reading, writing, and math skills necessary for university-level studies.
Formerly divided into two sections, SAT 1 (Reasoning Test) and SAT 2 (Subject Test), the exam now consists of a single main section. As of 2023, the exam has transitioned to a fully digital format.
Exam Sections and Number of Questions
The Digital SAT consists of two main parts:
1. Reading and Writing
Number of Questions: 54
Duration: 64 minutes
This section measures students' reading comprehension, analysis, and correct use of grammar. Questions are posed based on short texts and passages. The texts are selected from various fields, including literature, history, social sciences, and science.
2. Math
Number of Questions: 44
Duration: 70 minutes
This section includes questions on algebra, advanced calculus, problem solving, data analysis, geometry, and trigonometry. Calculators are permitted in this section of the exam.
Scoring and Total Time
Scores for each section (Reading, Writing, and Math) range from 200 to 800.
The total exam score ranges from 400 to 1600.
The total exam duration is approximately 2 hours and 14 minutes.
The SAT is considered a prestigious qualification accepted by universities and higher education institutions worldwide.
