The British Boarding School Workshop (BBSW) event took place at the Radisson Blu Edwardian Heathrow Hotel, London, from November 7-9. Thursday's presentations began with a chance for those who hadn't been to BBSW before. It was a great opportunity to meet other delegates and the BBSW team, and to get to know the venue. The evening began with a presentation by Naomi Goldstein, Director of Fragomen Worldwide Compliance, who discussed the latest Brexit updates and immigration trends observed in the industry over the past 12 months. Presentations then continued on to topics such as Innovation and Social Media, Digital Education, How to Give International Students a Great Start in a UK Boarding School, and finally, Design, Technology, and Engineering.
The event brings together high-quality educational institutions with representatives from boarding schools across England. The three-day event featured a total of 106 participating schools, sponsors, and attendees. All agents and schools were given twenty minutes to share their questions and opportunities. Twenty-minute pre-booked appointments allowed school representatives to meet with agents face-to-face.
Over the two days of the event, I was able to speak with 32 schools I had previously booked, and I had the opportunity to meet face-to-face with a few schools I had only contacted via email. I gathered information about each school's policies, procedures, summer programs, and what each school had to offer. After the two-day event concluded, we embarked on our three-day tour, visiting five different schools.
