On Monday, the first school visit of the day began at Bishop's Stortford College in Hertfordshire, an hour's train ride north of London. The school is surrounded by residential buildings and a three-minute walk from the city center, where you'll find boutiques, cafes, a cinema, and bowling. The campus is well-organized, with dormitories in one area and classroom buildings in another. We started the tour with the boys' dormitory, where the housemaster gave us a tour. They're a lovely couple and have been the housemasters of the boys' dormitory for 18 years. No other person in England has held the same position for that number of years. They've formed a bond with each of the children and now attend their engagements, weddings, and baby showers.

The dormitory consists of a living area and an area where the boys can hang out, play billiards, table tennis, watch television, and play games. Each floor of the dormitory has a kitchen for students to snack on throughout the day and even cook meals. As we toured the classrooms, they were all equipped with the latest technology, and the number of students in each class was small, allowing teachers to better engage with their students. The Art Department was the most recently built building on campus. The two-story Art Building houses courses such as design technology, painting, drawing, sculpture, fashion, printmaking, ceramics, film, and photography. After the school tour, we gathered with all the students in the school chapel to pay our respects to the women and soldiers who died in World War I.
